STORY BY: Blue Heeler SunFire
Blue growls some. Felinar sighs. "Somehow, I wouldn't think that Awardings would care about the mindset of a civilization. "He only cared about himself," the dog growls out, "that and power. Napalm goes back to scanning the remainder of the disk's contents. "Fel, do you remember anyone leaving for a "special" assignment?" Felinar shakes his head. "As far as I can remember, I was the first.....And that didn't last long." "Ahhhh." Blue looks at Felinar again Felinar shakes his head slightly and mutters, "I need a shower. I'll be back down later." As he turns and walks out of the room, his tail brushes lightly against Blue's leg. Napalm` abruptly returns to the real world. "Ahh, just as I suspected. Morlong had Mr. Awardings meet him at a very odd location." Napalm glances around in a confused manner. "Where did Fel go?" "Said shower, but hmmm, let me check, you finish with the files. I'll be right back" Blue pads out to make sure his friend is okay. "Uh...okay." Napalm replies to an empty room. He takes a seat and resumes his work, saving his finding for a more receptive audience. Felinar 's door is closed, and nothing can be heard from his room as the dog approaches. He knocks on the door. Felinar walks over to the door wearily. "Who's there?" "It's me.. just wanted to talk and make sure you're okay.. if that's okay." Felinar opens the door. "Yeah, c'mon in." Blue pads in and sits on a bed. "What's wrong?" Felinar walks back over to the bed, sitting down on it. Once again he only wears his padded breeches, his hard-muscled torso and arms exposed. There is a tiny scar where his injury was. "Nothing's wrong. Just got to thinking about Sekai and Kalla again...it happens." "Ahhh, well, I was concerned after you." "Why?" "Because you are a very good friend of mine" Felinar looks down at his forearm, where an older, more jagged scar is visible. "That's dangerous, you know." Blue moves closer. "It doesn't matter to me, you are my friend, that's all that matters." Felinar turns to look at Blue intently, his golden eyes glittering. "Why do you wish to be my friend? Why is it so important to you?" "Because I don't like losing contact with my friends. You were one of the first friends I had that wasn't like a set up friend that someone WANTED me to be friends with and it turned out horrible for me. You and I had a great time despite what our parents wanted." Felinar shakes his head slightly and sighs. "If you had known what I was...you would have reacted the same as everyone else. Maybe it doesn't matter to you now...you're older. But not then." "Hey, it doesn't matter what you were/are. That doesn't matter to me at all, never has mattered to me." Blue slides closer. Felinar continues to look into the canine's eyes. "It's unnatural. I'm a freak." The dog puts a paw on the lion's arm, "you are not unnatural, or a freak, there are many that feel the way you do." Felinar tenses. "You have no idea what you're saying." I do have an idea what I'm saying." Blue notices the tensing, but keeps his paw on the shoulder. Felinar turns to look at the full moon through the window. "How could you?" "How could I what? know what your going through, know the thoughts of `Why am I different?' `why do I like them?' `Why can't I fit in with everyone else?'" Blue rubs the shoulder just a little, "I've gone through them all, Fel. Why do you think I live out in the woods most of the time?" "Because you're afraid of losing control to the bloodlust again?" "My bloodlust was only a result of that shot.. and it's safely taken care of now." Blue rubs the paw more, "I live out in the woods, cause there I dont' have to worry what people think of me.. don't have to do any of this city thing." Felinar shrugs slightly. "You're SunFire. People only think highly of you. What could they possibly fault, anyway?" "That hasn't a THING to do with it.. Around here SunFire doesn't really hold sway, just in some circles. You mention SunFire out on the street and you'd get reactions like, `who are they?'" Felinar turns to look at you again, his eyes narrowing. "Answer me. You're a wonderful person..helping anyone you can. Why would anyone think badly of you? What haven't you told me?" "That's just me.. That's not all the furs out there. I'm not like other furs, I have different likes, and different ways of living, but if someone doesn't know me, then they don't have an opinion and unfortunatly in this city if you don't have an opinion, then it's a bad one that forms in it's place Felinar's tail twitches slightly. "Meaning?" "Which part meaning?" he asks as he slides closer, moving his paw on yoru back some. "Meaning....what are you doing?" Felinar asks suddenly. "Trying to tell you about myself, that's what." "I meant with your arm." Blue looks at his paw on your back and shrugs, "not sure, think I was trying to relax you." Felinar looks down. "What's wrong?" "Blue...honestly...what do you think about what I did with Sekai?" "What should I think about, you had a wonderful time with him, correct?" Felinar blinks back a tear. "Yes...before they murdered him." He looks back up at you. "But there's more to it than that. You seemed...interested when I first came back." Blue looks at Felinar with a soft glance, "I honestly missed you, and had wondered what had happened over the interveining years." Felinar nods slightlyy, and looks back towards the window. "I see." "And I must admit, you aren't bad looking at all." Felinar turns back to look at you, his eyes narrowed suspiciously. "...What?" Blue_Heel rubs yoru shoulder again, "face it.. you are a very handsome and cute lion." Felinar snarls violently and stands up, a tear rolling down his face. "You're mocking me!" Blue looks very serious, and stans u;. putting his paws on each side of your muzzle and turns you so you look directly in his grey eyes. "I am NOT nor ever will Mock you. What I say is the truth." Felinar trembles for a moment, then a sob wracks his body and he turns, walkinig quickly from the room. "Fel, FEL!" Felinar leaves the hotel, and walks into the forest slowly. Blue pads back towards the room where Napalm was working, looking down at the ground and having a slightly damp fur under his eyes. Napalm walks back toward their hotel rooms as the lion brushes past him, he looks up, not sure what he saw then continues, running into Blue. "Ooooh, I'm sorry," Napalm states as he looks up. "Oh, heya, uh.. what did you find out?" Blue asks. "Uh...nothing too important, though I do have a new and dawning respect for the depth of mortal evil. Was that Fel that just rushed out of here?" Blue looks away at the mention of that, and walks back to his room. "Uh, yea, he had to do something." Napalm blinks in confusion. "What did you two talk about? You don't look so good." "I'm fine.. We just talked and such. He had to go out and look for soemthing. "You never were a good liar. Anyway, since you don't feel like talking about it, let's move on." Blue sits on his bed and looks blankly out the window, listening to the wolf. "I found out where the meeting where the contract was drawn up took place. It's at the site of Morlong's defeat all those millenia ago. An odd choice, but a very poetic place for him to make his new begining. Not to mention, few of our kind ever go near it, so it was relatively private. Aside from that small bit of information, the rest had little to do with us, just a great deal of attempts to increase his power in a variety of ways, none moraly acceptable." "I see. How far is it from here?" Blue seems somewhat distracted, but still kinda able to talk. "Huh? Oh, its a good distance, even at maximum safe speed for carrying a passenger it would take nearly a whole day to reach. And, despite whatever differences you and Felinar may now have, we should not run off and leave him for that amount of time. He's already been abanonded by an entire culture, I do not plan to add to that." Blue snaps around, "There are no differences we have.. he's just facing things that he thought he had buried, and I don't plan on leaving him at all." "Good. Well, its still early and I've exhausted what little that disk had to offer, I suppose our next course of action should be to at least make certain he is safe." Blue nods. "Give him a little time, though." "I don't plan to make myself seen." The dog looks at the wolf, "We are NOT spying, if I'm going to see him, then he will KNOW I'm there." "Thats fine, I wasn't planning to take you. I'll be back shortly." "NO, don't..." the canine starts as Napalm disappears as is his habit. Felinar stands at the edge of a high cliff, lit by early morning sun. He has shed his clothes and stands with his eyes closed, arms extended to his sides as the heavy wind blows through his mane. He doesn't seem like he's going to jump, he simply stands there. Napalm observes the scene from over a mile away, using the sun as the perfect camoflauge to his true form. Only his exception sight in this form allowed him to observer from such a distance, and even so he couldn't make out a great deal of detail, but he had accomplished what he had said he would. Felinar was safe, and with that he decided to fly slowly back to the hotel, he needed some time to think too it appeared. |
